Anti-Wrinkle treatments customised to you

Performed by our experienced Registered Nurse, Anti-Wrinkle injectables are a popular and minimally invasive cosmetic treatment—and for good reason! It’s safe, effective, and quick as can be.

Benefits of Anti Wrinkle Injectables

  • Discomfort is minimal

If the idea of surgery makes you squirm, anti-wrinkle injections may be a more palatable choice. These injections are administered quickly and precisely using an extremely fine needle to ensure you feel little more than a pinprick. Upon request, a topical anaesthetic may be applied .

  • Look younger in days

Forget about dealing with intense bruising or swelling. With this non-invasive procedure, you’ll begin to notice the difference in your skin after approximately 3 days. Your skin will look smoother, plumper and more youthful, just in time for a weekend getaway or big event.

  • Quick recovery time

Unlike surgical anti-ageing procedures, injectables have the advantage of a quick recovery time. The procedure generally only takes a few minutes and some call it a “lunchtime cosmetic procedure”, as there’s no reason you can’t return to work straight after your appointment with zero down time!

  • Preventative

You don’t have to have wrinkles to know you don’t want them in your future. While their main purpose is to improve or temporarily remove existing lines, Anti-Wrinkle Injectables can be used as a preventative measure to help soften the lines that form when your face moves

  • Look More Rested

With both age and repetitive muscle movement, lines settle into the face and are visible even at rest. It’s these lines that can make your face look tired and fatigued. By softening those lines and wrinkles in the skin, your face looks more youthful and relaxed.

  • Shape & Symmetry

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables can do more than just reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles; they can also be used to lift certain parts of the face and balance asymmetrical features.

FAQs

  • Anti-wrinkle injections aid in wrinkle reduction formed by the muscles of facial expression. Composed of a commercially prepared form of Clostridium botulinum, this causes a block in the nerve activity to the injected facial muscles, providing a temporary reduction in muscle movement.

  • Whilst the face is in motion the lines that appear are known as dynamic wrinkles, however, repeated movement over time forms deeper lines and folds known as static wrinkles.

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables work to prevent the formation of static wrinkles by stopping the signal between the nerve and muscle.

The decreased movement in the muscle places less stress on the skin helping you maintain a fresh and youthful appearance. This treatment is most effective when used as a preventative measure.

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables are made from a purified protein that temporarily causes facial muscles to relax, softening lines and wrinkles and reducing the severity of visible wrinkles.

  • Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers are both injectable treatments that minimise the appearance of facial wrinkles. Both are effective options for the right patient, but they address slightly different concerns and have different mechanisms of action.

Anti-wrinkle injections are also known as neuromodulators. They work by temporarily stopping the normal motion of muscles into which they are injected. This treatment relaxes wrinkles that are the result of muscles repeatedly contracting in the same location.

Fillers work by literally filling in the area underneath the skin. This approach is useful for treating wrinkles that appear due to age-related fat loss and the deterioration of collagen and elastin. By replacing lost volume and filling lines, dermal fillers temporarily restore youthful fullness to the face.

  • The needles used for Botox are extremely small, so shouldn’t be uncomfortable. Of course, everyone’s pain threshold is different, so if you have a particularly low pain tolerance, it may be worth taking paracetamol around an hour before your appointment. You should avoid ibuprofen and other blood thinning medication, though, as this can lead to increased bruising. Occasionally, numbing cream may be used in cases where pain threshold levels are particularly low.

  • How long it takes for the effects of Botox to start varies from person to person, but it generally takes around 3 to 14 days before it kicks in. When this happens, you’ll start to see minimised lines and wrinkles.

  • There’s no downtime with Botox, which means you can get on with your day as normal. However, because you might experience some redness or pin prick marks afterwards, you might not want to do it right before a big event.

  • It’s impossible to give a definite answer as some people experience longer lasting results than others. Usually effects typically last between 12-16 weeks.

It is recommended that treatments be scheduled 12-16 weeks after the last treatment.

  • The treatment involves administering micro-needle injections into or around the facial muscles to relax the action of the muscles that causes wrinkles. To allow the wrinkle relaxant to perform optimally, it’s best to avoid the following:

Rubbing or massaging injected area for at least 4 hours after treatment

Strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

Wearing tight-fitting headgear that covers the forehead.

Lying on your front; try to keep upright position for 4 hours after treatment.

Drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after treatment.

Applying make-up for at least 24 hours after treatment. Mineral make-up may be applied immediately after treatment. However, you should take extra caution not to use too much pressure around the treated area.
